Dalangin

Simpleng Pag-uusap

“Hi love! Musta? I miss you! :)”

A Brand New Heart Devotional

Bagong Puso

Isipin mo kunwari…

Miracle in the Family Devotional

Miracle in the Family

What is one thing that has had a huge influence on your life?

No matter who you ask, the answer to this question remains the same:  Family.

We can’t even measure the affect, whether positive or negative, that family—particularly fathers—has had on our lives. God’s original design for family was a place of safety, where husbands and wives love each other and children are loved, cared for, and protected.  Unfortunately, instead of experiencing love, many of us have suffered hurt and pain from our families.

Jesus cares about you and your family.

Jesus has seen it all and He cares about it more than you know.

He understands.

God is a perfect Father. He cares about us because, first of all, we are His children. He loves us with an unconditional type of love.

Because He cares so much about us, He desires to bring restoration to our broken relationships. He not only wants to heal us, He also wants to heal our family.  He wants us to experience His abundant blessing.

He is a God of miracles.

Only God can take something that is completely broken and make it whole again. Only God can mend human hearts. Situations that seem utterly impossible for humans to fix are possible for God.

Take heart.

Remember: You are the son or daughter of a miracle-working God.

What God wants:

  • Comfort you if you feel brokenhearted
  • Heal relationship wounds
  • Restore broken family relationships

Reflection
Questions:

  • Do I genuinely believe that God can do miracles?
  • Will I commit to praying for a miracle for my family?
  • Will I choose to forgive my family?
  • Will I show love to those who have hurt me, just as Jesus does for me?

Take a moment to hear from God:

Read the following Bible passages for the day and ask God to speak to you:

  • Psalm 147:3
  • Malachi 4:6
  • Mark 10:27
  • 2 Corinthians 5:18

Know someone who needs to hear this?
Foolish or Wise? Devotional

Foolish or Wise?

Do you want to be wise or foolish?

Being wise doesn’t mean just “staying out of trouble” or “being educated, successful, and wealthy.”  A lot of people try to be wise without really knowing what is right. They follow popular opinion, and when popular opinion changes, their belief system changes. They try to achieve an invisible standard for their life that constantly changes depending on who they talk to. The Bible calls these people “foolish” because they are “tossed and blown about by every new teaching” (Eph. 4:14). They have a very unstable foundation.

Building our lives in wisdom means building our lives on the only secure foundation–Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches us how to live in wisdom, how to live out our belief in Jesus, and how to honor him with our lives. Living in the wisdom of God is more than just head knowledge–it involves making decisions every day in line with the truth of His Word.

His opinion of us is the one that matters.

What does God’s wisdom look like?

Wisdom is not just knowing right from wrong but doing what is right.

Often the “wisdom” of the world is contrary to the wisdom of God. For instance, the wisdom of the world may say to get back at people who wrong you, but God teaches us to forgive. The world may tell us to hate our enemies, but God asks us to love them, even if they don’t deserve it.

Remember: Being truly wise means living according to God’s standards, not merely popular opinion.

What God wants:

  • To train you to be wise
  • To teach you what living in truth looks like
  • To show you practical ways to live according to His standards

Reflection
Questions:

  • What is true wisdom?
  • What steps can I take to grow in wisdom?
  • What is the difference between the “wisdom” of the world and the wisdom of God?

Take a moment to hear from God:

Read the following Bible passages for the day and ask God to speak to you:

Who Are You Worshiping? Devotional

Who Do You Worship?

We All Worship Something

Whether we realize it or not.

One definition of the word “worship” means, “to love or honor (someone or something) very much.”

Some people worship money, some worship themselves, some worship an ideal job or achievement.

What you truly worship is what you build your life around.

Worship Is More Than…

just going to a big church, being religious, or singing songs. Jesus loves it when we sing Him songs, but even more than that, He wants us to worship Him from our heart.

God wants us to love, honor and adore Him.

This means that He wants to be our number one priority–the most important thing in the universe to us! If that is true then it will be seen in the way we live.

Remember: As we worship God and focus on Him, we begin to build our lives around what matters the most.

What God wants:

  • For us to build our lives with Him at the center
  • For us to love, honor, and adore Him
  • For us to show our worship to Him through the way we live

Reflection
Questions:

  • Who or what am I worshiping?
  • Is God my top priority?
  • Do I worship God with my everyday decisions?

Take a moment to hear from God:

What Kind of Life?

Fruit is Amazing

It’s flavorful, sweet, and delicious.

However, fruit doesn’t come from a tree overnight. Instead, it comes from a tree that originally started from a single seed. It was planted in good soil, received adequate water and sunlight and developed into a mature tree that could bear fruit.

Fruit-bearing is a natural part of a fruit tree’s life cycle.

Let’s Make It Personal

If we, like a tree, want to have a life full of good fruit, we have to remember to be faithful. Fruitfulness is a result of faithfulness and remaining connected to Jesus. Jesus specifically tells us that we can’t bear fruit apart from Him.

Don’t become impatient in the development process and give up. The Bible promises that we can expect to have the fruit of the Holy Spirit, (such as love, joy and peace) if we remain connected to the source of love, joy and peace–Jesus Christ.

Remember: The wonderful fruit that you want to see in your life only comes when you remain connected to Jesus.

What God wants:

  • To develop you, like a tree that bears good fruit
  • For you to stay connected to Jesus–the source
  • That the fruit from your life would be an incredible inspiration and blessing to those around you

Reflection
Questions:

  • What type of fruit is resulting from my life?
  • Am I staying connected to Jesus?
  • Are there areas in my life where I am unfruitful? If so, why?

Take a moment to hear from God:

Read the following Bible passages for the day and ask God to speak to you:

  • Luke 6:43-44
  • John 15:4-7

How Strong Are You? Devotional

How Strong Are You?

It’s a given.

There will be storms in life. Whether we like it or not, we will have to face challenging and difficult situations. Our goal is that we stay standing strong, even during these trials.
Consider the example of a tree. Throughout its life it will have to weather countless storms. Without an immense root system to anchor it and provide nourishment, a tree would topple over.
The same is true for us. Those who are planted deeply in Christ and in a community of fellow believers, are more likely to survive life’s storms.

Think about it.

What will keep you standing strong when things get hard?

We need to remain faithful to allow God to develop us into the person He wants us to be. He promises us that He started the good work within us and He will be faithful to bring it to completion. He is developing us day by day to be more like Him. He is creating us to be His masterpiece and He takes great pleasure in us.

Don’t worry, you’re not alone. You can do all things through Him, because He is strengthening you!

Remember: God is my greatest encourager. He began the good work within me and He will be faithful to complete it.

What God wants to do:

  • Encourage you to keep going
  • Create in you a beautiful masterpiece
  • Show you that He is always there, even in the strongest storm

Reflection
Questions:

  • What is the quality of my “root system”?
  • How will I remain strong through the storms of life?
  • Will I be faithful to follow God even when it is difficult?
  • How does God develop me?

Take a moment to hear from God:

Read the following Bible passages for the day and ask God to speak to you:

  • Psalm 92:12
  • Philippians 1:6
  • Colossians 2:7
  • Philippians 4:13
