More than any other person on earth, Jesus understands that feeling perfectly. When he was on the cross, carrying the weight of our sins, he cried out in terrible anguish, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Jesus understands our humanity, because although wholly God, he was human too.
Maybe you feel that way. Alone, unloved, forgotten.
You may feel like you are in a “prison of hopelessness” right now. Maybe you can’t even see if there is light at the end of the tunnel. If you feel hopeless, God wants you to know that He has an amazing plan for your future. He wants to give you hope again.
Whatever situation you may be in, you are not alone. You are not unloved. You are not forgotten. Jesus cares about you and He loves you. He has promised that when we are a part of his family–no matter what happens–He will always be with us.
Things don’t always go the way you want them to go. Things happen that are terribly disappointing and out of our control. The one thing we can control is how we respond. We can choose to run to Jesus to find comfort and rest.
Will you run to Him when loneliness, discouragement and depression come flooding in?
